2. Are your employees background-checked? Cleaning crews often work in your facility outside business hours — background checks should be non-negotiable.
3. Are you bonded and insured? Ask for a current certificate of insurance including general liability and workers' compensation.
4. Which EPA List N-registered disinfectants do you use? A provider who can't name specific products or explain dwell times isn't equipped for clinical cleaning.
5. Is your staff trained in bloodborne pathogen protocols? This should be standard for anyone cleaning exam rooms or areas near clinical waste.
6. Who will actually clean my facility? Know whether staff are direct employees or subcontractors, and whether the same crew returns consistently.
7. What happens if I'm not satisfied with a clean? Ask about their complaint resolution process and re-clean policy.
8. Do you provide a written scope of work? Any provider unwilling to put details in writing for a medical facility is a red flag.
9. What are your contract terms and cancellation policy? Understand commitment length, auto-renewal, and early-exit costs.
10. Can you document your protocols for our compliance files? This matters more for a medical practice than almost any other commercial cleaning client.
